Attendees will gain a greater understanding of operational hazard assessment, various levels of protective systems, an overview of Kappler protective products and, be immersed in Kappler’s extraordinary culture driven to “keep bad stuff off people.”
Road Show
The Kappler University Road Show is a condensed version of our Onsite Workshop based at your location.
Virtual
The Kappler University Virtual delivery offers customized training based on your schedule and tailored to the needs of the specific audience.
Distributor/Sales Representative
This training path is designed for distributors and sales reps of Kappler products. Instruction is generally delivered virtually and according to your schedule.
HAZWOPER Refresher Training
In accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120, Kappler offers an 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training, either onsite or at customer site, depending on need. Please contact us regarding the cost for this service.
Continuing Education
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded for participation in Kappler University Onsite Workshop, HAZWOPER Refresher, and other courses as developed.
Customized Training
If there is a training need not mentioned above, we can work to customize a program with targeted focus on specific facets of the occupational safety and health arena, either onsite, customer-site or virtual delivery.
Meet our Technical Support and Training Manager, Tiffany Koontz, CHMM, CIT
Tiffany Koontz is the Technical Support & Training Manager for Kappler, whose facility is located in Guntersville, Alabama. Ms. Koontz holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, as well as numerous certifications in hazardous materials management and response. Prior to joining the Kappler family, she worked as a laboratory chemist and bacteriologist, an Assistant Radiation Safety Officer, a hazmat transporter, and a Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF) manager. She has seen firsthand the many facets of hazardous materials incidents.
As an active member of a regional response team, she assisted with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) drills and responded to calls on a regular basis. Her practical approach to hazards led her to teach hazmat courses for the California Specialized Training Institute before moving on to course development, instruction, and management of hazmat courses offered through the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA at the Center for Domestic Preparedness.
In addition to her normal duties at Kappler, she currently serves as a member of both the NFPA Technical Committee on Hazardous Materials Protective Clothing and Equipment (1990) and the NFPA Technical Committee on Emergency Medical Services Protective Clothing and Equipment (1950). Tiffany is an active member of the InterAgency Board for Equipment Standardization and Interoperability (IAB) and is also heavily involved in the ASTM F23 Committee on Protective Clothing and Equipment and ASTM E54 Homeland Security Applications.
