The Kappler University Road Show

The Kappler University Road Show is custom design training based on the needs and requests of the local audience, either general indus-try or hazmat or both. It also allows us to be flexible based on the time constraints of the users. We think two hour to four hour duration sessions will be the best, but can do more than that if the need is there.

Classes offered by Kappler University

OSHA 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training Program (2 days) $175.00

This training program is intended to provide entry-level general industry workers information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter.

OSHA 8-hour Hazwoper Refresher (1-1/2 days) $150.00

This training program satisfies the requirement in CFR1910.120, for annual refresher training for hazardous materials operation technicians and hazardous materials response technicians.

Kappler Technical/Product Workshop (1-1/2 days)$100.00

This training program provides a general knowledge and background of the performance characteristics of chemical protective clothing fabrics, components and garments. The proper selection, care and use of chemical protective clothing will be covered, as well as an introduction to the chemical protective garments that are offered by Kappler. This course also includes a hands-on session to familiarize students with all aspects of chemical protective clothing.

Location, Logistics & Pricing

Kappler University sessions are held in a dedicated training facility on Kappler's corporate campus in Guntersville, Alabama. Each session can accommodate up to 20 attendees. 8-hour and 10-hour classes are completed in two days. All course materials, snacks, drinks, and a lunch are provided. Course fees for the workshops are waived for current Kappler customers. All classes will include a tour of the Kappler R&D and manufacturing facilities. Lodging and other meals are not included, with good lodging and restaurant options available near the Kappler campus for those classes requiring overnight stays.

About the Presenters

Kappler University is led by Philip Mann, who is an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer for 10 and 30 hour General Industry outreach training in accordance with guidelines provided by the OSHA Training Institute. In addition, Kappler has extensive contacts throughout all areas of safety training and utilizes other OSHA authorized subject matter experts to provide the best possible training experience. As Technical Director for Kappler, Mr. Mann is responsible for technical support for Kappler's chemical protective garments. He has been involved in the protective apparel industry since 1988, including research and development, technical support, training and product certifications. He is involved in training of professionals worldwide who specify or use chemical protective apparel. Mr. Mann serves as a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Hazardous Materials Clothing and Equipment. He also has been involved in the ASTM F-23 Committee on Protective Clothing, the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, and the American Nuclear Society. He is a 1979 graduate of the University of Alabama, with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
